Sometimes I Just Remember

I thought I would share a few more pictures as I tell you about what I have been doing. We have been going to so many auctions on the weekends and week days too. I can not tell you how tired I have been. I can not believe how much work this is to do. With all the Christmas shipping each day my work space has dwindled. I have about 4 pieces of furniture waiting on me right now and I am heading to an auction today to find a few more. We are redesigning a space and need new furniture for our Holiday Open House later on this fall but I have to get the furniture done now.
The sale has come so quickly this time and I am just finishing up all the details. I feel excited about the remainder of this year and some of the things that we have planned. I do have to tell you I have had many moments of sadness. For some reason this sale has brought back some of the heartbreak that I carry about the loss of my parents. It's almost like I can see Dad working here like he used to and I can hear some of the comments he used to say to me. I have a chair that he would sit in when he took a break and rested...sometimes the memories are overwhelming and I spill tears on my displays. I think that since my dear friend lost her dad it has triggered memories of my own Dad and my loss. I have been watching all the butterflies surrounding my gardens, the plants that my Mother had planted each summer. She would show up with a van full of of perennials and then her joy was to plant and tend them while she was here. She loved being here with me and her grand daughters, her great joy were her grandchildren.
When I am still and quiet and dreaming I can almost imagine my parents and how they would have loved what I have done with my little shed and my new business.
My heart is so sad and so happy...sometimes I feel such great pain with sorrow and happiness combined. I see my sister and she reminds me of how my Mom was...always trying to care for and protect each of us, again, the joy and the sorrow.
My little shed is my happy place but I will admit it is filled with tears and joys. My head knows that life is hard. My heart knows that those left behind look for signs...I have flowers and buildings and memories that help me remember. I look forward to seeing them again, life is so different without them.

More fun!

I have been working feverishly on trying to put the fall items out for our next sale. We are a little more than a week away and I am still knee deep in displays!
Sometimes it's just the fun of putting the decor in their spot!
Sometimes I wonder if I want to keep it for myself?
Even though I do not have a spot in my home I get to enjoy him while he is here.
Furniture comes and goes.

Blue is my least favorite color but I am trying my hand at it for this sale

Fall Decorations have been started!

I thought you might like a look at my fall items. I have been working on my country/farmhouse room and it has made me excited for fall. I love the warm colors or fall and the cooler temps too.
I have much more to do but I wanted to share before I got too busy this week. We have been to 3 auctions in 4 days I am tired but there is no rest today...much more to do and I have a trip to Columbus this morning!
The butcher block sold right away at the last sale but I am lucky enough to still have it for now. I love the way it looks in this room.
My dd made a few little owls that will steal your heart.
And I found a spot for the table I showed you in an earlier post. It is much more beautiful in person.

One of my favorite wreathes for this season.
I have more decorations for fall but I am just getting started! We have been so busy but mostly with good things. Spent yesterday afternoon with my dd for her birthday with a dinner and gifts and of course cake!
I can not believe I am working of fall decorations but remember when I am only open a few days so fall has to come early at Vyntage Barn! Happy day to each of you!

This buffet is so pretty and I am enjoying it while it is here.
And this dresser is such a beauty too!
This round table is so perfect for the center of this room and of course the lantern sold right away.
I will share the August show soon and you will get to see the first pics of Fall. If you want to keep updated just follow my facebook page Vyntage Barn.

July sale

Well, we are within days of our next sale and I thought I would share a few pictures. I have been working of more furniture for this sale and I kinda hope this one doesn't sell. I have dreams of this piece at Christmas. I love the way it turned out!

I also finished a desk and chair and again, it turned out so beautiful, I did not get a picture of the entire piece but will share that another day.
We also found a wonderful old piece that weighs 300lbs.
This table is even more beautiful in real life, I don't think it will be here very long. I also finished a buffet and I will share it for the next post. I have many last minutes things to do so I will catch up with you later!

Garden in Bloom

I have been spending a little time in the garden and I thought I would share what I have been up to! I have been so busy with Vyntage Barn that I forgot about sharing the garden. I have pictures in front of the  business but all you can see is the mulch so I will have to try again when it is cloudy.

Happy 4th!

The 4th of July is such a fun and relaxing day to spend with family and friends. Before I leave this morning I thought I would share a few pictures of our decorations and the fireworks from last night. I hope we all take a minute to remember that if we don't protect the freedom that we have then it will be lost from us.
I am thankful for all my blessings, there are so many, so safe travel friends. Until we meet again.
