Projects have started again

Well, I've started my project. A while back I told you that once I was done with my surgery I was going to work on stripping wallpaper from my bedroom. It was the easiest job ever...the paper just came right off. Now that is the way it should be. We also pulled up the corner of the carpeting to see the floor. It is the original wood floor and it is in nice shape. Hubby was not sold on using the bare wood...but said I could do whatever I want. The carpeting is a burber (sp) which is in wonderful shape...but it is a blue figured....very ugly. I would much rather have a taupe but for now I either have to stick with the blue or use the bare wood. I have not decided on a color theme because it really is all about the flooring. I will change the colors totally if we pull the carpet up. If not, then it will be similar to the bathroom that I posted months ago that is blue and dark brown. So I am having a day or two to decide and then I will get to work.
Right now the room is totally cleared out of all the decorations, just the bed and dresser is left. But my parents will be home today and that will slow down the progress because I will take the girls to see them tomorrow and we have to go to the vet....and an antique store to look for a headboard for our bed.
Today I have go to the furneral home, my best friend's mom passed away. She was a wonderful lady and I don't think I ever met anyone whom was so happy all the time...a joyful laugh! Kim, I will keep you in my prayers!
Have a wonerful Sunday...and remember today is the Lord's day let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Walking schedule

Well, sorry that it has been so long since I posted...I guess time just got away from me. I have been visiting some of you and enjoying all your posts...you are all so interesting.
This week I have decided to step up my walking routine. I normally walk for 45-60 minutes each morning. I love being outside and I like the quiet during that time of day. Lately, I decided to walk for the same time in the morning but I want to walk and additional 20 minutes in the afternoon. So I am trying to get between 7-8 miles each day. Of course yesterday it was so windy and cold that I knew there was no way I could get in that much walking without freezing...so I decided to ride my daughters exercise bike...I rode for 4 miles. I don't know if that is close to burning the same amount of calories but I figure that as long as I am burning calories that is what matters. So far today I have in 4.5 miles so after dinner I will verturer out for another walk and hopefully meet my goal for today.
Not much more to say other that...maybe something more interesting for tomorrow.

New Patterns

I am so happy, the new patterns that I have been waiting on has finally arrived. I really love this company and I get some wonderful ideas from their books. Sometimes I look at their pattens and then I come up some new ideas of my own.
I finally put out our Easter door decoration today...a little late but none the less it is out. I even put out a few egg lights on our little tree.
Hope you are enjoying St. Patricks Day.

Sneek Peek

This is another little peek at one of my spring corners. I love tulips but don't have many planted at this house so I guess this fall I big take that task on. We are going to plant some bittersweet this spring...I am very excited about that because I love to decorate with it in the fall and right now we just gather it from the roadside areas...where it grows wild.
Tomorrow is my daughters piano competition and she is a little nervous. She usually does well under pressure so I hope this is the case for this year too.
We don't have any Easter plans this year, I guess we are waiting for my parents to return from Florida...two weeks from today. What a blessing that will be!!! Hurry home, Pops!

Almost done with snow

Well, this past weekend we got 13 inches of snow...that put us 27 inches of snow above our average. No wonder I am so tired of the snow.
I did spend some time spring cleaning our living this past week. The girls moved the furniture and I washed the walls and curtains and all the decorations. It is so much better. I did start to put our some spring decorations. The little chick in the pic is a new treasure that I picked up at a store that is going out of business. The other two eggs are really my daughters...the were given to her when my great aunt died. The shared the same date of birth, 80 years apart and each year the celebrated together until my aunt passed away. We think of her often and in the spring I put the eggs out to remember her.
I am tninking seriously about taking the wallpaper off my bedroom walls. My girls are teenagers and they are tremendouly good about helping me when I ask them to...so before the get busy with softball I am thinking about working upstairs....
I can't believe it is almost Palm Sunday. We haven't made any plans for Easter as of yet so I had better get some plans going.
Visit again soon.

I've been away...

Well, I have been away for a while...caught that flu that was going around. Boy did I feel miserable. I do feel better today and I thought I would stop by and visit some of you. Hope all is going well for each of you...Keep warm. We are in the midst of yet another snow storm but I am putting all my winter decorations away and dreaming of spring. See you soon.
